Odyssey use case for Business Application Onboarding

A customer wanted to bring rigor to the process of onboarding a new business application, to make sure none of the reviews were missed or skipped. A workflow was created to collect information about an application in a structured way, then coordinate reviews, before recording a pass/fail decision.

An initial form collects basic information about the business application (name, use, pricing, OS, dependencies, etc). This information is then routed to three different stakeholders: the legal department, the IT Interop Lab, and IT Security.

Additionally, the stakeholders each have access to a form specific to their expertise. Each party supplies their findings on the suitability of the potential business application and supplies a buy/pass decision.

If all three stakeholders make a pass decision, the information about the application gets populated into the Application Portfolios Management system. If any of the stakeholders fails the application, the application cannot be bought and brought into the IT ecosystem.
